Q. Is this club different from the University Flying Club?
A. This club was formerly the University Flying Club. The club name was officially changed on July 1, 2006
.

Q. Can I join the club even though I not a licensed pilot?
A. Yes. If you are interested in learning to fly, you can join the club and take lessons to learn to earn your private pilot's license. Even if you're simply interested in aviation, you're welcome to join.

Q. Do I have to pay the full $1,000 to join?
A. Yes. This is a requirement to join the club and is not optional.

Q. Can I rent the club aircraft without joing the club?
A. No. The flying club is a non-profit member organization, not an FBO or commercial flying service.

Q. How much will it cost me to learn to fly?
A. That will vary according to your time committment, but you can expect no less than $5,000. Our club instructors are self-employed, not employees of the club, and you should make arrangements with an instructor for your private lessons.

Q. Do I have to be a student at the University of Wyoming to join?
A. No. The club is not affiliated with the University.

Q. Can I start lessons immediately?
A. Our instructors have limited time and are very busy and will accept new students only when they feel capable of fullfilling the training requirements. Don't be surprised if you are placed on a waiting list.
